Fun With Barium

Tonight I start drinking my 900ml of barium sulfate suspension for tomorrow's CT scan.

This one's a biggie in that it may tell if I'm winning, losing or playing to a draw in the spectator-unfriendly game of chemo.

If you're a believer in good vibes, religious prayer, or universal connectedness, send what you've got my way. Between you all and me I don't feel optimistic, but that could be the chemo or one of my seven tumors talking.

But maybe the twisty straw will spur me on to victory!

  2. Imagine you're drinking a beverage from Tim Horton's. 900ml is now just a medium. It'll be down in no time. As for the seven tumors talking, the six geese-a-laying will be along momentarily and will make no sense either...

  4. I have been imagining them shrinking (woozzhssh) and disappearing (pop! poink!) all month and that your body is repairing itself (ohmmmmm) to its former glory. Is it weird that my imagination of your insides resembles the world of Dr. Seuss?

  8. I think sucking a barium shake through a twisty straw like that is how I got my hernia. Vibes a plenty right at ya.

  9. Clearly this cancer didn't know who it was dealing with when it took up residence in your body. I expect by now it has received the message that it isn't welcome, has packed its bags and is just waiting for the next train.

All good thoughts and positive vibes to you and yours. Even the cat.

  12. Hi Hoss it's Brian. Reading your blog regularly to keep up to date and keeping you in my prayers. I know you'll think it hokie but I was listening to this show outlining some wonderful results they get in Germany using non chemical means to fight cancer. Hey, it's just another tool in the arsenal if it comes to that.
